Challenge
Unifying multiple brands without losing their identity
Keenfinity Group was established as an independent company through a carve-out from Bosch Group, bringing together multiple sub-brands with different visual styles and product needs. The challenge wasn’t just to create a new design system—it was to define a shared foundation that could scale across brands. We needed to ensure consistency across products, while still allowing each sub-brand to express its own identity.

Our Approach
Designing for consistency at the core, flexibility at the edges
To support multiple sub-brands, we structured the design system into two layers:
Core system (shared foundation and main components)
Includes design tokens, components, and interaction principles that ensure consistency across all productsBrand layers (extensions)
Allow each sub-brand to apply its own colors, typography, and visual identity without breaking the system
This layered approach enables teams to maintain a unified experience while adapting to different brand needs—balancing standardization with flexibility.

Outcome
A unified yet adaptable design system
The result is a scalable design system that provides:
✅ A cohesive visual language across all products
✅ Clear rules for maintaining consistency
✅ Built-in flexibility for sub-brand expression
Teams can now design within a shared framework while still delivering brand-specific experiences.
Impact
Enabling consistency, efficiency, and collaboration
We redesigned the experience to reduce complexity and improve efficiency, focusing on both user workflows and system consistency:
🎯 Established a strong, unified identity for Keenfinity and its sub-brands
🎯 Accelerated product development with reusable components
🎯 Improved design–development collaboration through shared standards
Reflection
Designing systems means designing for trade-offs
This project reinforced that design systems are not about control—they are about balance.
Too rigid, and they limit creativity.
Too flexible, and they create chaos.
💡 The key is to define what must stay consistent, and where flexibility is allowed.
Designing for multiple brands pushed me to think beyond individual screens—to design systems that scale, adapt, and evolve over time.
